Skills:

Translate text

The translate-text skill is a guided workflow for translating short inline text through the Language Weaver MCP tools.

It is intended for requests like:

  • "translate 'good morning' to French"
  • "how do you say 'thank you' in Japanese"
  • "translate this sentence to French, German, and Spanish"

It is not intended for file/document translation.

Workflow

The skill orchestrates this tool flow:

  1. Resolve valid language codes via lw_get_language_codes.
  2. Resolve group-scoped language pairs via lw_get_account_language_pairs.
  3. Submit translation with lw_translate_text (returns requestId).
  4. Poll using lw_get_translation_status until terminal status.
  5. Fetch result via lw_get_translation_result.

Behavior rules

  • Supports one text to one target, one text to many targets, or many texts.
  • Batches requests by (source, target) so each call uses a single target per request.
  • Uses sourceLanguageId: auto unless an explicit source is required.
  • Enforces group-aware validation before submitting.
  • Requires explicit model choice when multiple models exist for a pair.
  • Returns results in original user order.
